This was our second meeting vs. Westbury in less than 2 weeks. We had the will to win, but it just wasn't in the cards for today. It was clear to see that the girls were still tired from the 2 previous games. We came out slow, which you can't do against a powerhouse like Westbury Christian. The score was 17-3 after the first, 35-8 at half, 56-10 after the third and 66-13 at the end of the game. We couldn't stop the penetration and we couldn't block out. This allowed the Wildcats to score at will. Lindsey and Kate (our 2 seniors) showed the team why they're our captains this year. They never gave up and continued to fight the entire game. Kate ended the game taking one charge, but she should have had at least 3 or 4 (if we had good officials). I'm thankful to have seniors that don't quit at any cost.
Lindsey led in rebounds with 9; Kate and Emily tied with 1 assist each; Lindsey led with 2  steals; and Lindsey, Emily and Bailee all had 2 blocked shots. Kate led the team with 1 charge taken. Lindsey led the team in points with 6 and Bailee followed with 4.
As a team, we shot 4 for 33 (12%) from the floor, 0 for 4 (0%) from behind the arc, and 5 for 10 (50%) from the line. We hope to come out with more energy tomorrow as we face Concordia for the 3rd and 4th place seed. The outcome of this game will determine our opponent in the 1st round of the playoffs this weekend.
