On April 10, the Cougars continued their domination of the Concordia Crusaders at Concordia. It was a perfect baseball night with beautiful weather and great Cougar fan support. Michael Ellisor got the Cougars started with a single. Jeff Abt followed with a grounder to 2nd, both runners were safe on the play. Stuart Trahan then stroked one to left field, advancing the runners and bringing Ellisor home. Ethan Carnes followed with a single to centerfield bringing Abt home. Brett Wyatt then drove in Trahan. Neither team scored again in the 2nd or 3rd Innings. Carnes owned the Crusader hitters with stellar pitching. In the 4 th Inning, the Cougars added to their lead with great hitting from Trahan, Wyatt, Serres and Knight, scoring 3 in the 4th. Carnes added two more K's to his total in the bottom of the 4 th . Ellisor led off the 5th Inning with a double and then stole 3rd. Abt then drove him home with a long sacrifice fly to centerfield. Trahan then singled and stole 2nd and then 3rd base. Carnes singled to right field, bringing in Trahan. Wyatt then crushed the ball to left field, but it was caught, advancing Carnes. Hendrix pinch ran for Carnes and scored on a passed ball thrown to Serres. The Crusaders were able to score 3 in the 5th. In the 6th Inning, Hendrix singled to centerfield. Ellisor then bunted and raced to 1st, advancing Hendrix to 2nd. Abt then smashed one into right field, scoring Ellisor and Hendrix. A passed ball brought Abt home and walked Carnes. Wyatt doubled to centerfield, bringing home Carnes. The Crusaders were shut down in the bottom of the 6th and were run-ruled. Final Score: 13-3, Cougars.
