On March 19, the Cougars faced Second Baptist. Jeff Abt got the nod for starting pitcher and breezed through the 1st Inning with three up, three down. Abt led the way on offense in the bottom of the 1st with a single and was brought home on a terrific hit by Ethan Carnes. Stuart Trahan then hit a sac fly to bring home Carnes. Abt continued his stellar pitching in the 2nd Inning assisted by a great catch by Carnes at 1st. The Cougars failed to score in the bottom of the 2nd. Second Baptist got on the board in the 3rd Inning with one run, but the Cougars answered in the 3rd Inning with some good base running by Michael Ellisor and great hits by Abt and Carnes. Score at the end of 3: Cougars 4, Second Baptist 1. Both teams failed to score in the 4th Inning. Both teams scored one run in the 5th. It became a defensive struggle for the rest of the game with very little offense. Final score: Cougars 5, Second Baptist 2.
