Anytime Anywhere Learning (One-to-One Laptop Program) |
| |
Northland launched its Anytime Anywhere Learning Program (One-to-One Laptop Program) in 2006.
The program enhances learning and teaching with technology and also embeds technology into the core curriculum. Each student in grades 6-12 has access to their own laptop with a comprehensive software package. The program has provided new creative opportunities and truly reoriented the classroom learning experience at Northland Christian School.
The original One-to-One program was a three-year program using NCS-owned tablet PCs
for our students. At the conclusion of the 2008-09 school year, the school announced several key changes to this program, the most important of which was that the school would change from tablet PCs to Apple MacBook laptops.
All students in grades 6-12 participate in the Anytime Anywhere Learning Program by purchasing their own MacBook laptop through NCS. The only exception to the purchase requirement, will be that those students in grades 9-12 who chose to use school-owned MacBooks during the 2009-2010 school year will be allowed to use that same MacBook through the 2012-2013 school year.
